The Power of Creativity
“With great power comes great responsibility.” The Spiderman story is not a new one, and yet "Spiderman: Homecoming" opened in theaters July 7th with an opening weekend that blew away nearly every other Spiderman movie. An age-old story. Tale as old as time. An umpteenth rendition of the story of a boy that can spin webs and scale walls. We’ve seen it all before…again and again…so what could possibly be behind such a massive success? Our suggestion: Creativity. Unlike previous Spiderman movies, “Homecoming" doesn’t show us Peter Parker’s journey to becoming Spiderman, and his endless dedication to freeing the world from evil - themes we have coursed through time after time. Instead, “Homecoming" creatively takes a new direction: delving into the anxieties and uncertainties of being a teenager (superhero or not), making the story layers deeper as we explore the psyche of this chosen boy. A true coming of age story," Spiderman: Homecoming" hones in on self-awareness, self-realization, and the choices we make on our journey towards living our truth and becoming the best versions of ourselves we can be. Aside from our collaboration with Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios in the design and creation of some amazing promotional items, NWG is proud to share an appreciation of the same creativity that made "Spiderman: Homecoming" so revolutionary.
